This sort of fantasy poem came to me when I was still taking ballet. (my love of astronomy shows up here as well)
Stars Within Their Souls
Two shining sisters once joined hands And laughing dashed through crystal lands Past the hills and silver shores To run and play among the stars They skipped along the Milky Way Through passion-purple nebulae And spun into a lovely trance In a star-dust sprinkled, spiral dance Then leaping through sparkling screens And shimmered, mistly, clouds of green They found themselves in velvet night Breathing deep the star-filled night And pirouetting on their toes They danced with stars within their souls Then with a sweeping reverance Following golden streams of dust They descended back to opal towers To amber, sun-streamed trees and flowers And bid farewell, to sleep, and then They dreamed of when they'd do it again
