-> This is a poem I made for my history class and was based on World War I due to how the assignment was based on the topic. He absolutely loved it and my aunt submitted it to The American Poet Society. It's been published in two books so far, 10th to 11th page of one and first page on the other. I picked the view point of Anti-War since my teacher's stories gave me the proper inspiration for it. Hope all of you like it ^^
This war we now call World War I Some look upon it now How much they lost Families once united Divided by guns Some families, lucky to see their boys home Others suffered a harsh reality Tears and blood Shattered emotions to ones at home For they had false hope False hope that the boys they held so near and dear Would come home, alive and quite well Looking back to that false hope, close your eyes Wipe your tears, it'll be alright Somehow, you'll find a way Know this, those who lost brave boys If this life, unlike a fairy tale Could be rewound to the days when your brave boys Were alive and at home You know now that you would hold them close Say such words as, "Don't go, I don't want you to die." Continue on, those tears you tried to hold back Seem to go down your face as you say, "This bloodshed..." Pause for a moment, then continue "...it's meaningless."

Ah....Roxie didn't tell me that you wrote, too. Or maybe she did....
I liked your poem...it would be nice if they sent our boys home from Iraq already, wouldn't it?

It really would, hopefully things will calm down and allow us to do that. It's kinda sad to see all the ribbons of families who don't know whether or not their loved ones fighting for this country are alive until they're allowed to at least visit or have a chance to write. So I truly do hope, for the sake of those who are suffering, that this craziness comes to an end and everyone can have a sense of joy. I'm also glad that you liked this poem ^^ I might submit more of my old works later on, but this is one that I felt should be shared here first.
